Living World Animation

Create immersive and believable behaviors for our background characters

Our Living World Team

As an animator on the Living World team, you are the one that breathes life into our worlds. For you, animation isn’t about the key-frames and poses of the hero characters. Your canvas is bigger, your work on the scale of streets, cities… entire worlds. For you the world is a character in itself.

Our Living World Artists form a small multi-national and goal-driven group who are by nature creative problem-solvers. The team has a thirst for technical and artistic excellence; it supervises and collaborates with a host of internal departments, enabling the production of a large variety of content while retaining a tight-knit culture.

What you will do

As a Character Animator, your main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Design and execute processes, conventions and techniques to maintain and improve our excellence as it relates to Character Animation production for our studio;
  • Mentor, train and inspire other animators within the team;
  • Review internally as well as externally produced content and propose novel approaches to maintain and improving the overall quality of our character animation;
  • Produce a certain amount of character animation as well as setting these assets up in animation networks within our game-engine Decima;
  • Depending of your seniority and interest, you may have the opportunity to take a broader ownership over a part of the character animation pipeline.

Who you are

We’d love to hear from you when you:

  • Are a Character Animator by trade with 5 or more years of experience, preferably at a AAA rated games studio;
  • Have working experience and knowledge of Motionbuilder with Maya being a plus;
  • Are experienced with State Machines – Morpheme sequences network setup in particular would be a plus but not a prerequisite;
  • Focus on artistic quality and technological excellence for both yourself as well as others;
  • Are strong in your communication and coaching skills and have the capability to address art design, art direction and artistic elements with your peers and external artists; Enjoy solving 3D character production issues and/or insufficiencies.
