Create next-level Visual Effects for the Horizon universe

At Guerrilla we are proud of producing games with astonishing visuals and gameplay. To create the high quality visual effects that help games like Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West come to life, we’re looking for a uniquely talented, experienced Visual Effects Artist to join our team.

What you will do

As a Senior VFX Artist at Guerrilla, we will look to you to create, visualize and implement particle and shader effects. You can expect to work on a wide range of environmental, weapon and character effects in close collaboration with your peers in Art, Design and other teams - we will find tons of surprises to challenge you with.

From a technical perspective, we expect you to ensure that your work runs within performance requirements, and that you will set up logic that drives your effects, using our visual scripting language (similar to Unreal Blueprint).

Who you are

You have a strong artistic skill set, with a passion for building expressive effects shaders
You have experience with Maya or similar 3D packages and node-based shader building tools (Unreal, Maya hypershade, etc.)
You have a strong understanding of particle systems (Houdini, Popcorn FX, Cascade, etc.)
You have experience with visual scripting languages
You’re self-motivated to learn and explore new software
You enjoy working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams
You are proactive in solving issues that might arise during production

Extra Points

You have worked in a AAA game studio and/or have shipped a title before
You have experience with other engines and toolsets such as Unreal, Unity, etc.
You have experience with fluid simulation software (Houdini, Embergen, FumeFX, Realflow, etc.)
